Sound Therapy & Sound Baths
Paula has trained with the British Academy of Sound Therapy and uses their teachings along with her Shamanic training to provide you with a unique soundscape experience.
A variety of instruments are used during the sound session, such as gongs, singing bowls, chimes and drums. This creates a meditative, restful and regenerative experience as you lie down or sit comfortably while the sounds and vibrations of the instruments wash over you.
Now that it is widely accepted that most illness are stress related, treatment methodologies promoting relaxation, such as Sound, can be a very effective way to prevent and treat stress related illness.
The term "sound bath" comes from the effect of the sound waves produced by the instruments and their effect on our brainwaves. Combinations of the frequencies played lower our brainwave frequencies, inducing deep relaxation through a process called entrainment. In other words, in the same way as certain music can calm us, evoke emotion or excite us - sound baths work by taking us into a deep state of relaxation.
Group settings are normally around hour, as are our 1-2-1s, but sound will often be brought in to our yoga and Qigong sessions, and will appear at most of our retreats.

"Music can heal the wounds which medicine cannot touch."
